Actor's Philosophy
Hey y'all! I’m Courtney, and I’m an actress, singer, and dancer based in Dallas, TX, and Birmingham, AL! I love that theatre is a living, breathing art form, and I love the truthfulness of this form of storytelling. I am connected to acting because you put a bit of yourself and a bit of truth in every piece of art you produce. Even when I am watching or telling a story through a character that is different from me, I love that I can connect to that character through shared emotions and empathy. Theatre is an important art form because the characters you play can teach you a lot about yourself and show you aspects of humanity you never thought of before. I love being an artist because it brings me so much joy and I get to bring others joy. As the great philosopher Dolly Parton said, "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours!" Through theatre, we get to give others joy in a world that lacks it and needs it.
